Landon McNamara blends two worlds... Big‑wave surfing and Island‑roots music!

  • McNamara is also an accomplished singer‑songwriter whose style blends reggae, surf rock, and Hawaiian soul.
  • His debut album, A Dollar Short & a Minute Late, reached No. 1 on the Billboard Reggae Albums chart, marking a breakout moment in his music career.
  • He continues to release singles and albums, including Still Kickin’ (2019) and Slum Beach Posse Vol. 1 (2023), building a strong following for his laid‑back, heartfelt sound.

Landon's Surfing Achievements

  • Raised on Oahu’s North Shore in a professional surfing family, McNamara grew up immersed in Hawaii’s surf culture.He became known as a skilled big‑wave surfer, culminating in a major milestone: winning the 2024 Eddie Aikau Big Wave


  • Invitational at Waimea Bay, one of the most prestigious and rarely‑held surf contests in the world.


  • His victory at “The Eddie” placed him among an elite group of surfers recognized for courage, ocean knowledge, and mastery of massive surf.


McNamara Surfing Family Roots

Garrett McNamara is a pioneering big‑wave rider best known for setting the world record for the largest wave ever surfed. 


His career helped redefine what was possible in big‑wave surfing and inspired a new generation of ocean athletes. Landon & Garrett McNamara, raised on Oahu’s North Shore, grew up surrounded by this culture of ocean fearlessness. 


In 2024, Landon achieved one of the sport’s rarest honors by winning the Eddie Aikau Big Wave Invitational at Waimea Bay... An event so selective that more people have walked on the moon than have won it (SURFER Magazine.)
